Useful Tips

5 things to spruce up your space

The following items, properly placed, can add enhanced pleasure to your space.

  1. Art – Painting prints, sculpture and collections of all types – utilitarian or aesthetic – china, glass, hats, toys, books, etc. can add color, sparkle, & interest.
  2. Plants and Flowers – Plants and flowers add color and form in the same way as any art object. In the instance that they are not made of paper, silk, or plastic, they can also add life (added benefit – some plants help clean the air).
  3. Textiles – The combination of color, pattern, and texture in pillows, curtains, bedding, rugs, and tablecloths can greatly enhance the experience of your space.
  4. Mirrors – Aside from making a small space seem bigger, mirrors add sparkle and light. They can also reflect any color or scenery from the other side of the room.
  5. Lamps – Illumination can also make a room seem bigger when it bounces off a wall and shed light wherever it lands. The base and shade in itself can also be a work of art.

  3. Create Timeline to tackle designated areas, and put in calendar.
  4. Get Help. enlist a friend, relative, or hired helper to assist with weeding designated areas.
  5.  Take breaks. Work two hours and take a lunch break, go out for coffee, or walk around the block.
  6. Designate items to give away to friends, relatives, or community resources:
